#4.06 Come Back... Be Here

"In the wink of an eye, the easter trip that I had been eagerly waiting for was gone. Now, I just wished that somehow I possessed the ability to turn back time. =( "

The last day of semester was also the first day of my Belgium trip. After completing my hospital placement around noon, I rushed back home to have a quick shower. Luckily, CH and Vivian had already packed my lunch for me so I didn't have to starve for the whole journey to the airport! When we reached Brussels, it was already night time but the hotel was so much more comfortable than I had expected. Needless to say, me being me, I slept like a log through the night after a long tiring day.

The next morning, we walked around for a while before joining the free walking tour around the city. I would say that Brussels was my favourite city in Belgium due to its good food especially the waffles, chips, chocolate and ice-cream! Also, I knew a little bit more about its history thanks to the tour guide even though I was not paying attention to him most of the time.

Ikiboya??
Beautiful view at the Parc Royal. =)
Unexpected rainbow that we stumbled upon!
All of us on the first day!!

Before the tour guide explained the city's funny "stories" and history, I was like "okay, this is just another city with buildings similar to the other cities in Europe." However, after his explanation, I realized that every design and structure of each building was there for a reason. Some of them were so damn obvious that I felt like slapping myself for not noticing them. I guessed the saying "Tak Kenal Maka Tak Cinta" was true all along. After the Tintin and Smurfs explanation, I totally fell in love with this interesting city. =)

Tintin!!
At Kunstberg/ Mont des Arts.
At Parc du Cinquantenaire.
Belgium fries that free deep fried twice!

After this trip, I suddenly had the urge to try travelling on my own.  I knew that I had always wondered why anyone would love to travel solo, and it was definitely the last thing I wanted to do in my whole life but now I wanted to know how it felt like to be alone and enjoy the view. It might go all wrong and fail miserably because I had never planned anything on my own before but hopefully I would at least gain some experience from it. However, it's not gonna happen in the near future. Maybe someday when I'm less clumsy and forgetful but now it's definitely on my things-I-must-do-before-I-die list, not that I had such a list. =P

In front of a small shop in Antwerp!
At Stadhuis, Antwerpen.
With the Li-O-lait's friendly owner who made
excellent filter coffee that I had been searching for forever!
At Gruuthuse Museum. =P
On the green, green grass.
First time to see cute little ducklings. =P
Waterzooi, the signature local dish.
Belgian waffles with whipped cream.
Seriously the best crepes that I had ever tasted!
Best bagel in town!!

Study break had officially begun. I was still not in the mood to begin my revision although I knew that time was running out as every second passed by. I guessed I had to push myself to work hard for these whole month for the coming exams. On the other hand, Katy Perry's concert was coming in May but at the same time I kinda hoped that it didn't have to come so soon as the dispensing exam would be right after it!

Urghh..seriously I was totally not the type who loved to crack my brain and study hard but I reckoned I was left with no choice now. So looking forward towards my summer holidays this year! =)
